times its own mass, so it is very easy to quickly turn small amounts of spawn
into large amounts. As always, the
more spawn you add, the faster the grain will colonize. (However, when
inoculating a container of grain,
beware of adding more than 20% of its mass, as growing mycelium produces
heat
and this will cause the grain to heat up too much and contaminate).
